I know one man who has his own home made number plates on his ute. He printed them on plain paper out of his computer printer, laminated them, then put them in plastic number plate protectors and fixed them to his ute. They are legitimate as he wrote letters to state transport, police, the court, and some other offices, telling them all what he believes, intends to do, and if they have any objections to write back with verification of their objections.

When you mail your claim of right, you need to have a registered mail number on the documents you are mailing out, and get delivery confirmation and keep it as proof. Keep copies of your documents you have mailed in case you are hassled out.
